In Poland, we are the leader in all market categories in which we offer our products. Behind the success of the DANONE group of companies in the local market is a team of more than 3,000 employees who operate from Warsaw office and seven production facilities: in Mirosławiec, Krotoszyn, Opole, Rzeniszów, Bieruń, Jeleśnia and Radziechowy-Wieprz.

At DANONE, localness is of high importance. Major strategic decisions are made at the national level and are tailored to local market conditions and consumer expectations. In Poland, our three primary businesses, Danone, Nutricia and Żywiec Zdrój, operate together as one Country Business Unit (CBU), responsible for all product categories, brands and innovation strategy.

Regional teams support DANONE in Poland. Within the framework of the adopted organizational model, we cooperate with the following:

  • the DBS department (i.e. Danone Business Services), which provides standardized and comprehensive solutions and services to improve the quality of work, customer service and suppliers in the CBU;
  • the IT&DATA Hub division, is driving a new direction for the entire DANONE all over the world. It is driven by innovative solutions to optimize databases and improve business and technological processes.

Based on this cooperation and knowledge about consumers, we are strengthening DANONE's market position.

This organizational model allows us to better develop our business in Poland in line with the vision of One Planet. One Health, in which we care about human health by continuously improving our products, inspiring Poles to make better food choices and acting with deep respect for the planet and its resources.

Our priority under the vision of One Planet. One Health is specific actions taken to protect the environment, which including joining the Polish Plastic Pact or advocating for introducing a deposit system for beverage packaging in Poland. We have designated four main areas where we are conducting sustainable development projects.

CLIMATE

We are aware of the climate challenges, so for years, we have been measuring the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere produced in our production processes, taking measures to reduce it. As a result, we aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

WATER
WATER

We are taking steps to conserve water resources by minimizing water use in production processes, sourcing water sustainably and increasing its natural retention.

PACKAGING
PACKAGING

We are aware of the impact of inadequately managed packaging on the environment, so we make efforts to make our packaging planet-friendly. We are also a member of the Polish Plastic Pact, which sets ambitious goals for closing the plastic cycle.

We want to prevent food waste throughout the supply chain - we implement the elimination of waste in the production process by introducing improvements in our factories. In addition, we donate wholesome products that have not been sold to Food Banks so they can go to those in need.

HOPEstands for the four DANONE values that are the foundation of our organizational culture. They determine the way we behave, work and develop our business, as well as the way we connect with our communities and develop people.

There is also a volunteer project fund under the HOPE name, established in 2010 at the initiative of our employees. Through the HOPE Volunteer Program, Danoners can receive funding for their projects, do something good for others and the environment, and try their hand at non-business projects.
